"Ensnaring" dvd, 57 sec. 2005.

Mouse is a London fetish performer and she was already acting in previous artworks of Moio&Sivelli. In Ensaring, she appears imprisoned in a frozen-like place in which her performance happens, exhibited by one window of an art gallery. The salvation of Mouse’s fetishes-icons (through a silicon coating) and the subsequent installation around the perimeter of her white field of action, are the interaction playground in which the artists put the audience. Two realities physically kept apart are continuously interacting one with the other in an ironic play that suggests the interrogative on who is really the imprisoned subject: the audience who looks at, or the performer who is looked by the window. The elegant and cold performer’s gait, mixed with her rather indifferent character - interrupted just by the impenitent blow in the fan (put toward the public) – transform any contact into an enigma, letting the audience doubting about the real availability of the performer who acts while is physically unreachable. The audience remains with the sole voyeur satisfaction, with an unconscious active participation to the artistic performance, and with the doubt on who is the real victim of the frozen-like prison.

Mouse, la fetish performer londinese già modella di precedenti lavori di Moio&Sivelli, nel video Ensnaring appare intrappolata nel luogo congelato della propria performance ed esposta nella vetrina della galleria Blindarte. Il recupero dei feticci propri della performer, iconizzati dal rivestimento in silicone, e la loro installazione ai margini del suo bianco campo di azione costituiscono l'ambientazione scelta dagli artisti come luogo di interazione con lo spettatore. Due realtà tenute fisicamente separate interagiscono continuamente tra loro in un ironico gioco durante il quale è lecito chiedersi quale sia realmente il soggetto intrappolato: quello osservato o quello che osserva. L'elegante algido portamento della modella, il suo atteggiamento per lo più distaccato, rotto solo dall'impertinente soffiare nella ventola verso il pubblico sulla strada, rende enigmatico ed irrisolvibile qualsiasi contatto, generando dubbi nello spettatore riguardo la reale disponibilità della modella, fisicamente irraggiungibile. Resta allo spettatore la sola soddisfazione voyeuristica, la inconsapevole partecipazione attiva alla performance artistica, e il dubbio su chi sia la reale vittima dell'intrappolamento.
